I am excited to be writing in 2017 on International Women’s Day. Today I wanted to celebrate by talking about my friends that deserve recognition for their work!
Sophisticated, powerful and empowering, this Sydney based label just exudes luxury in a minimalist and feminine manner. Although suiting has always been deemed a masculine form of dressing, the attention to tailoring means that every woman has a suit cut to her shape and form. This means every woman can wear an Antonella Ianni piece and feel empowered to be who she is, wherever she is! Ever since I got my hands on a few pieces, I was hooked!

Celebrating beauty in its natural form and focusing on highlighting an individual’s natural features. We are told by traditional forms of marketing that you have to conceal all your flaws to achieve the ‘ideal standard of beauty’, however Gilded Cage promotes individuality and that is so special to me because we need to love ourselves for who we are a little more. Made in Italy, this line of cosmetics feels divine on the skin and is long-lasting, whilst also being cruelty-free. I now own three lipsticks, three shadows, and a gloss and I am determined to purchase the rest of the line because once you try it, you will love it!

The Balyck brand was born in Sydney and is now seen on local, and international celebrities like; Dannii Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Pia Miller and Adam Lambert. Balyck is designed and created by atelier Jessica Balyck, who creates each piece by hand in her studio. Each piece you buy from Balyck is special, and are jewellery pieces you will keep forever. Created with beautiful Swarovski elements, Balyck is a gorgeous brand for all who love to let their accessories do the talking. Having been a fan of Balyck for years, and owning pieces myself, I can safely say that this is indeed a special brand you must start collecting.

I encourage all to embrace who you are, but also to support your local brands. I don’t feel like our home-grown talent receives enough credit, and it is time we continue to highlight their achievements and hard work, because without creativity the world is boring.
Have a great week and remember to be kind to others.
