I am excited to be writing in 2017 on International Women’s Day. Today I wanted to celebrate by talking about my friends that deserve recognition for their work!

ANTONELLA IANNI

Sophisticated, powerful and empowering, this Sydney based label just exudes luxury in a minimalist and feminine manner. Although suiting has always been deemed a masculine form of dressing, the attention to tailoring means that every woman has a suit cut to her shape and form. This means every woman can wear an Antonella Ianni piece and feel empowered to be who she is, wherever she is! Ever since I got my hands on a few pieces, I was hooked!

GILDED CAGE

Celebrating beauty in its natural form and focusing on highlighting an individual’s natural features. We are told by traditional forms of marketing that you have to conceal all your flaws to achieve the ‘ideal standard of beauty’, however Gilded Cage promotes individuality and that is so special to me because we need to love ourselves for who we are a little more. Made in Italy, this line of cosmetics feels divine on the skin and is long-lasting, whilst also being cruelty-free. I now own three lipsticks, three shadows, and a gloss and I am determined to purchase the rest of the line because once you try it, you will love it!

BALYCK

The Balyck brand was born in Sydney and is now seen on local, and international celebrities like; Dannii Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Pia Miller and Adam Lambert. Balyck is designed and created by atelier Jessica Balyck, who creates each piece by hand in her studio. Each piece you buy from Balyck is special, and are jewellery pieces you will keep forever. Created with beautiful Swarovski elements, Balyck is a gorgeous brand for all who love to let their accessories do the talking. Having been a fan of Balyck for years, and owning pieces myself, I can safely say that this is indeed a special brand you must start collecting.

I encourage all to embrace who you are, but also to support your local brands. I don’t feel like our home-grown talent receives enough credit, and it is time we continue to highlight their achievements and hard work, because without creativity the world is boring.

Have a great week and remember to be kind to others.

With Love,

My Hypoxi Experience

My Hypoxi Experience

Hypoxi Randwick Studio.

Hypoxi Randwick Studio.

So, this is a subject I am pretty open about with my followers, and that’s weight loss.

I am a sucker for trying anything that promises to promote weight loss, however I stumbled across Hypoxi and boy am I hooked!

I was always thin in high school, I was quite active and would walk 4km every afternoon after school, and my diet was pretty good (thanks Mum). I then turned 18 and started to notice that my hips grew wider, and I quickly noticed how easily I was storing fat and going up in dress sizes. In a year I went from a size 4-6 to a size 10. I didn’t feel like myself, and began hiding myself under oversized tops for a while, feeling too self-conscious to put a bikini on.

I came across Hypoxi after remembering that I heard it on the radio, when I used to work for an accountant, and I called them for more information. I was booked into the Hypoxi Randwick studio, and signed up for a two month membership.

The first Hypoxi consultation is a breeze, however I was pretty self-conscious and desperate to lose the fat and cellulite around my waist, butt and thighs. Hermione and Lucy were fabulous! We had a chat about my goals, which were to fit into my clothes again, and I then got weighed and measured up before my first session in the S120 machine.

My before and after measurements. My legs gained a bit of muscle from my non Hypoxi days routine 9km walks.

My before and after measurements. My legs gained a bit of muscle from my non Hypoxi days routine 9km walks.

The machine is sort of like a pod from the waist down, where you sit on a bike seat and pedal for 30 minutes, maintaining an average pace with a low heart rate. The machine works by promoting blood flow, using air suction and compression, and uses your own body heat to help you sweat without even gasping for air. I was straight away hooked with this concept because I really don’t enjoy dying at the gym.

I continued my routine of three 30 minute sessions in the S120 per week, along with following a strict eating guide, cutting down my carbs and not eating two hours after each session, for the next two months, and my results speak for themselves.

I hadn’t signed back up for more sessions, as I really want to try and keep it off myself with good food and regular exercise. I go for 9km walks around my area and try to keep up basic exercise in the gym at home, however I ended up referring five friends who all loved it and saw great results! I lost 5.2kgs in the two months I was training with Hypoxi.

After 4 Hypoxi sessions and keeping to my strict carb free diet.

If you are wanting to shed some fat to help kick-start your weight loss journey, I highly recommend you contact your local Hypoxi studio today! If you’re an eastern suburb girl, let the Randwick girls know I sent you, because they will totally look after you, and keep encouraging you to smash your goals!

I Love Lita Magazine!

I Love Lita Magazine!

I am so super excited to announce that Lita Magazine have featured me in their latest issue!

I feel so honoured that I was invited to be a part of the magazine featuring inspiring women in business. As many of you know, I am all about encouraging women to work together to achieve great things, and I am a massive believer in collaboration and building one another up to grow together, instead of working against one another. I grew up with ‘Girl Power’ imprinted on my brain and I aim to continue that empowerment to all the women who I cross paths with. Sidenote: as far as I am concerned, the Spice Girls still rock my world!

I hope you enjoy the spread, and I congratulate all the other amazing women featured in this editorial! Let’s keep up the pace and kick some major butt!

Special thanks go to Balyck Jewellery, Liberty Shoes in Double Bay, and Antonella Ianni for loaning me pieces from their collection for the shoot! My hair and makeup was by my talented friend Sylwia Lukosz, and the stunning images were photographed by Heidi Hannele.

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink

I never wear pink but I instantly fell in love with this pink ensemble by graduate designer, Maryam Lindbom. This gorgeous two piece can be worn both casual and formal. I decided to take more of a casual approach, as this is the kind of vibe I am feeling at the moment. I was obsessed with everything about this two piece; the silky feel, the weight of the fabric, and the gold buttons (we all know I LOVE gold). If you haven’t looked at Maryam’s designs yet – you are missing out!

It was a fun afternoon shooting with my friend Stephan Felix and I hope you all like the images from this shoot. You can find Maryam on Instagram @_maryam_lindbom and Stephan Felix @whostephan

It was a bit breezy!
